a few yrs ago, when i was still working in singapore, i read an article in a singapore newspaper, which posted a composition written by a hk english teacher. it circled tones of mistakes, e.g. "They is...". == 「基準試」may not help much in improving teachers’quality but w/o「基準試」, i think their quality will degrade much faster... == no matter which field one is in, "life learning" is necessary... .

今時今日，個個都進修，如果唔搵番D野讀，就好似落後咁，都幾辛苦。
終身學習，諗起都得人驚
基準試，目的是提升教師水準，令我們的下一代得到更好的教育。責任重大，所以絕不能與其他課程相比。
